First, thanks Bomberman for all your work in posting these sets, it's very appreciated.
But the people who are running this site now do not care about the level of quality and excellence that Rob maintained when it was his project and it is very easy to see.
Selecting models. It seemed like Rob scouted models from all over, as they sent him their application photos, and he selected them to come to Arizona to shoot. I'm presuming he also paid their airfare from wherever they were from (and I presume it was only a "one way" ticket some of the time, as they flew to LA to do more shoots right after). But the models the new webmasters have been booking (especially since they are continuing to post remastered sets from previous years) are obviously not the same caliber as those earlier ones. It seems like they're fine taking anyone local they can get, because that's cheaper for them.
Shooting the models. I used to sometimes rag on Lia for talking through a scene or just inserting herself when she didn't need to, but she usually only did it occasionally. Now, the girl shooting vids (I think she's a former FTV model herself?) is constantly involved, either giggling behind the camera, saying something ridiculous, getting herself into the shot or handing props like vibrators or dildos to the model. It's all very distracting and none of that helps make it a better scene. Also, the shoots are now terrible because it feels like the girl operating the camera is a little shy to stay and hold on the model's privates. She constantly zooms in and then walks back out, it's really dizzying and not at all sexy. Is there no more tripod that could be placed so the model could just do her thing without the person behind the camera having to be there? Also the photo sets, which used to always be between 80 and 120 pictures are now often fewer than 40 per set or are more than 100, but many of the shots nearly the same as several others taken in the series.
Photo equipment. A big reason why all of this looks so bad is that it's being shot on an iPhone, instead of a proper video camera and digital still cam. That really shows, especially since the girl operating the cam doesn't know how to stand still and get a proper photo. A whole lot of shots are blurry because she's moving as she takes them and it looks horrible. Its especially obvious compared to those older sets that they keep posting as if they are new. The quality between the sets from the past that Rob and Lia shot, compared to these new sets is unmistakable. In fact, I'd advise these new owners to stop creating those remastered sets because it only hurts their new product by comparison.
And then there's the little things... the models used to write essays about themselves, their homes, their hobbies, shared some of their personalities. It made it a lot more human. And the photographer would talk about the process of how the shoot went, some BTS commentary and other stuff. That's basically all gone now. Also, it seems like they're doing some "role playing" scenes with the model talking to the camera, which was never something that FTV did before, and it comes off looking really odd.
The one good thing is that occasionally they have posted a set from some other place (Spain, Colombia, Mexico), which works, primarily because the photographer was likely a fan of the old site and knows what to do when creating a set. So every other month or so, you get a new set that actually looks like the old FTV style. But that's not enough to make this worthwhile.
I actually approached these new owners of the site with all of these concerns and they never bothered to respond, So if you liked the old FTV there's only one thing to do. Let them know and don't support what they're doing, now.

Is Rob involved at all anymore? When did he step back? Any chance that his FTVX site will ever launch?

As of 2026 the site is still under his ownership and direction so I think he just stepped back from being involved in the actual shoots. It seems like he might have just stepped back to pursue other ventures like kickstarter projects and what not. At this point, I feel like FTVX is just the lost library of porn. I think the website itself is no longer up last I checked. It just redirects to ftvgirls or something. And theres only been like 7 actual releases (Whitney, Kenna, Nia, Nina, Ellie, Sophia, Bethany) from FTVX out of all the shoots listed on the site? Maybe more if you count some very old releases and some of the newer stuff that actually included some sex (like with Aria). I hope he releases it but it doesn't look likely. The question is why? Why would the instructions Rob set down get ignored by the people running the site? (and anyone can read what those instructions are, because he gave a pretty famous interview

To me, I think whoever is in charge might be getting some of the profits from the site themselves and they decided that they could make more by cutting corners, using local talent, having it shot with the cheapest equipment and nobody would notice.
As for the mythical FTVX site, was that ever really anything more than a tease? I mean there were the actual sets on the main site which you mentioned. And I think Rob was seriously planning to do it, but I think part of the issue he had was in not becoming a porn star himself (and Rob would have been the only guy - or the one appearing far more than anyone else on all of those videos).
And then there was the question of promoting these sets, most of which would be five or ten years old or older. And what are the expectations of posting those vids? On one hand, yes, the models signed contracts which presumably let the site hold, release and promote those videos and photos as they wished. But is that fair, especially if the model has moved away from the industry and is doing other stuff. This is also why I wonder about the "remastered" sets that have been continually released. It's one thing to have an old set of photos and videos on a site, buried under years of newer material. It's very different to have that set promoted as if it was just released and splashed across the front page. Again, that's likely within the rights of the contract signed at the time of the shoot, so it's allowed, but is that something that is ethical, and shouldn't that be a consideraton overall?
I think Rob doesn't need the money an FTVX site would generate and would more than likely cause more headaches for him than anything, so I'm sure that will never happen, now.

Yea it feels like he might have just decided to wash his hands of everything. And at this points FTVX might be something he doesn't want to bother with. The FTVX releases I mentioned were pretty substantial, though i think they were released on the FTVGirls site so im not sure what the plan was. But each release had FTVx Hardcore in the thumbnails and came with multiple camera views and a summary video that mixed and matched camera views. Seemed like alot of effort was put into them.
An example is Ellie, on the ftvgirls page as EllieX, shoot named Ellie - Horny From the Start, 28 Feb 2018. So at least like 7 or so of the girls had their extra hardcore content released under FTVGirls, makes me wonder if he just dragged his feet too much and whatever agreements about the rest of the content like expired or the girls decided they didnt want it released. And one of them, aria just had a hardcore scene mixed into her normal FTVGirls release and some of the very very old FTVGirls releases were also technically FTVx hardcore, the ones that had the girls with their boyfriends or whoever, not Rob.
Yea, maybe theyll have to dip into FTVx some time in the future if people get tired of the remasters and declining quality of new releases. They'll have to do the legwork to sift through what they can and can't release because if any of the models decline I doubt they'll risk releasing it anyway regardless of a contract. The release dates are on the thumbnails and most of them don't match when they were released on FTVGirls. Aria has a hardcore scene in Aria - Beautiful Curves Feb 2020, Morning Hardcore. And there are older hardcore ftvgirls releases but Im not sure how many.
Thanks for the info! I remember thinking Bethany was super hot when her original sets were released and then was pumped when I saw her hardcore shoot. Wish I still had that one. Although I suppose it's probably on this site somewhere.
